![]() It's a rare opportunity! Get story feedback from one of the best. MaryGay Ducey will listen to your story, at whatever stage of development, and help you make it better. Each storyteller gets 20 minutes. And you'll get to hear some great stories by other participants. MaryGay has volunteered to do two nights for SAC members. Proceeds support the Bay Area Storytelling Festival. When:Thursday, January 20, 7:00-9:00 Wednesday, January 26, 7:00-9:00 Where: Oakland Public Library, Rockridge Branch 5366 College Avenue, Oakland (a few blocks from Rockridge Bart) Who's eligible: Any current member of SAC. Fee: $10 (the best bargain of 2011, and it supports BASF) How to sign up: Email your interest to story.sac@gmail.com. Slots will be assigned via random drawing from all who have indicated an interest by 11:59, Friday January 7. There are six slots per night. If you are free both nights, please help the scheduler (and increase your odds of getting a slot) by indicating that, and specifying your preferred night. If you can only do one night or the other, please specify which night you are available. Please also include a phone number. Listeners: Each teller is invited to bring a listener. (No fee. SAC membership not required for that person.) There will also be a limited number of places for additional listeners. (No fee, but SAC membership IS REQUIRED.). If you're a SAC member and want to listen, email that message to story.sac@gmail.com. We'll accommodate as many as possible. The Storytelling Association of California (SAC) has issued an appeal to fans of the Bay Area Storytelling Festival to raise funds for the next Festival (scheduled for 2012). To kick off this fundraising, SAC Board Members along with the Bay Area Storytelling Festival Committee (the volunteers that organize the annual Festival) have already pledged $1775 in matching funds.
